Bachelor's Thesis
Exploring The Effect of Music on Atmosphere and Purchase Intentions in Video Games
For my bachelor's thesis, I studied how music changed the way people perceived a game environment and how willing they felt to buy in-game microtransactions.
I built the test game myself and paid a lot of attention to the participant flow: the invitation, the play session, and the questionnaire all had to feel coherent enough that the study could focus on the music.
A large part of the work went into shaping that flow so it could test the variables while still feeling like a game people could enjoy. The thesis received a 7.7.
