Designing and Evaluating Intuitive UX With Schematics in Mixed Reality
My master's thesis focused on industrial personnel who need to inspect and annotate complex 2D technical schematics in mixed reality. I designed and built a HoloLens 2 prototype in Unity with hand gestures, gaze controls, and voice input.
I worked with domain experts, ran usability tests, and compared the prototype with Microsoft Edge on HoloLens 2. Participants completed tasks faster and rated my prototype easier to learn, easier to use, more intuitive, and more enjoyable.
HoloLens recording limits make the videos look lower resolution and choppier than the native app. The prototype runs at 60 fps on device.
